Eureka Springs
Arkansas

On a very, very hot day, June 18, 2022, nine MBCA Ozark members and two guest visited the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Eureka Spring, Arkansas. Fortunately, we rode the one-hour guided tour on an open-air tram, but were unable to see many of the big cats due to the heat. It was a wonderful experience, just bad timing. The event also included a new member, Mike Cate from Springdale, Arkansas. One of the objectives of the event was to help raise food and money for the 2022 Feeding the Hungry charity drive in Northwest Arkansas. The MBCA Ozark Section had collected 65.4 pounds of food and $300.00 in cash to support the charity drive. We would like to thank our MBCA Ozark Members for their support so far. The NWA Food Bank said the donations have dropped significantly since Covid 19 started and the inflation costs, while demand for donations has risen. They were very appreciative of our generosity. Let us know if you donate time, food or money to any local food bank/pantry/church/shelter. Send me a copy of your check or volunteer time and we will include that in our charity recaps. Dennis Anderson and Barbara Lowinger are the 2022 Feeding the Hungry co-chairs for the MBCA Ozark Section. After visiting Turpentine, we drive on into Eureka Springs and had a great lunch. as always at Sparky’s Café.
